A pioneering circuit, prototyping and electronic design laboratory, committed to research and development in the realm of board design and manufacturing excellence. At the forefront of innovation, Pieris-Audio is the brainchild of two highly technical and creative technological explorers.
Our mission is to explore the intricate relationship between form and function, blending the two to provide optimal aesthetics and efficiency in electronic design. Key areas we focus on:
Advanced circuit design and board prototyping. Our two founders bring a wealth of knowledge and creativity to the laboratory. Their expertise encompasses many niche segments such as:
Professional music production and audio engineering.
We set ourselves a complex challenge, could we bootstrap a hardware business using crowdfunding as a means to gauge interest, and fund low batches?
We decided to find out if or how this could work. Exploring the complications of being your own distributor, taking payment for a product in advance and how this dynamic would work when starting a small company running low batches to meet our customer's needs.
Each month we will have a target number of orders to reach before a set date. Once we hit that target your order will then be manufactured. If the target orders aren't reached within the allotted timeframe then unfortunately the manufacturing process can't begin.
Our process for this will be a small non-refundable deposit that you will pay at the time of ordering, if we then hit our order goal you will be asked to complete full payment of your order, and then manufacturing will begin. During the order timeframe you are free to pay in full at any point should you wish, if you do so and the order goal is not reached you will be refunded in full minus the cost of the non-refundable booking fee or you can request to let it roll over for the next target. This process is the same way as festivals handle it, a standard non-refundable booking fee to cover our costs. We hope this helps maintain your peace of mind knowing you can take your money back out if your circumstances change.
Each customer will be given a ticket at the time of ordering, each product will be made based on the time of order meaning that if you are earlier to order, yours will be made first.
Orders take on average 2-3 weeks to be fabricated, and then the assembly will vary based on the complexity of the design. For faster access, we are contemplating PCB/DIY friendly kits If there's a demand for this.
After a prototype has been finished we will sell the remaining as stock if we have them, however, If it's not in stock then the option to Crowdfunding will become available.
